What's for Dinner?

Review of last night's gnocchi.. Meh.. When I took them out of the fridge they had gotten more goopy. I spread a little flour on them but it didn't seem to help. I boiled a pot of water and dropped the goopy dough and in and hoped for the best. They cooked but they were a little deformed. After straining them I tossed them in melted butter and parmesan and added fresh basil. The taste was great but butter usually makes that happen. Meh. Will have to tweak my gnocchi recipe..

I also made cookies last night for the office.. Recipe? I just made it up. Here it is:

Butter M & M cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
Vanilla
2 cups flour
Baking powder (comes in a small package so I used the whole thing)
2 eggs
M & M's peanut (as many as you would like)

Melt the butter, add sugars and vanilla. Pour into flour and baking powder (mixed together in another bowl). Mix. Add 2 eggs and mix and then add the M & M's. I placed spoonfuls on a cookie sheet and baked at 190 for 15 minutes- or until slightly brown..

As I have mentioned earlier, I hate following recipes so the above recipe is only suggestive. It worked for me though..

I like to bake for the office on occasion. I'm not a huge baker but I enjoy watching people eat it. Bizarre? Perhaps..

Tonight's dinner should be good. I'm making feta and roasted peppers sandwiches. I bought a yellow pepper and orange pepper and I will grill them (after being sliced thinly) in the oven with some olive oil. I might roast a couple of onion slices too. Remove the skins from the peppers when they are soft and mix together with some feta and salt and pepper. I will serve it on toasted multi grain bread.

Served with a side salad and homemade french fries and a glass of red wine does a good meal make.

Bon Apetit!
