A Passion for Fashion

I got my hair cut yesterday. It had reached to just below my shoulders- not long cuz I's got a short neck. It was dead weight and it was driving me nuts. I hate going to the hair salon. HATE IT! It's my fault really. I go in with expectations that I will come out looking like Posh Spice and well, I end up looking like Christiane Amanpour or Phil Specter. It's not a good thing. After the cut (now known as The Cut) I did the modern thing and posted on Facebook that I looked like a fat Anna Wintour. I need to correct that now that the hair has settled: I look like a 16 year old trying to pull off the Katie Holmes bob. It's not a good thing. Sob. Off to buy Biotin and pray for a 6 inch growth spurt of hair by May.

Apropos May, we're now officially going to Vegas. We're staying at the Hooters hotel and yes, that was the sound of the Husband falling to the ground in shock that I agreed. Meh, it's Vegas. I've been googling things to do in Vegas and oh boy I CANNOT WAIT! I've also made a list of Vegas films I need to rent and watch before going.

Honeymoon in Vegas- I have watched this like a bazillion times because I am a dork.
Swingers- yeah.. That takes me back
Casino- this is an amazing film and the fashion is amazing and Robert De Niro in those sunglasses is awesome. And I like Sharon Stone in this. I'm a big fan of this film and of course Goodfellas.
The Hangover- the Husband and I watched this last year and laughed. Oh we laughed. Have to watch it again!

I have a gift certificate for a fabric store (thank you Dragi and Silvia!) and I am going to head to the store and buy material to make shift dresses and caftans for Vegas. Go Big or Go Home! This summer I'm leaning towards big and bright prints and white and gold. Every summer I pick a trend and try to integrate into my wardrobe. It's fun. It's hip. My inspiration this summer, as coincidence would have it, is Sharon Stone from Casino. I'm going 70's and my hair better grow to match that. Bastard hair.
