A Passion for Fashion

I went to a fashion show on Friday and I don't know if it was the Prosecco or that I was wearing heels but the models looked short. They were pretty and pretty skinny but for some reason they all seemed to be my height. Bizarro. Several different designers were featured and some stuff was "oh wow I need that now where is the closest bank machine?" and some was "meh". But it truly was an inspiring collection. I haven't been to many fashion shows and this was a great experience. I had to force myself not to wear my sunglasses and act all Anna Wintour. My mother once bought a dress straight off the runway. I remember hearing the story as a kid and I had images of my mother wrestling the dress off the model and she made her walk down the catwalk. She's small but by golly she knows what she wants- sharp elbows.

This dress was to die for and still would be modern today. It was a peachy pink light salmony halter neck dress. The front was bedazzled and the skirt flowed to the floor. It was a work of art and I would wear it for dress up as a kid and dream of having boobs to fill it out. The dress never ended up fitting me- swimmer's back and all that jazz. Sigh.

So anywho, after the fashion show we walked around the stalls and checked out the collections again. I could not afford the clothes but I could touch them.. So much better than a strip club! Lucie, a girl I met through my friend Lucy (now that's confusing) had bought a little clip-in felt star for her hair earlier in the evening. Ad-ora-ble. I wanted one. So I got one. Here is mah star.
The irony is not lost on me.. Jewish gal wearing a star.. Hey! At least it's not yellow! Am I right? Yeah. Don't judge me. For 10 Euros I love this and am kicking myself for not coming up with it myself. Gawd that picture is awful..
Anyway, 3 more days and I'm free at last, thank Scott almighty I'm free at last!
