Scents

I have two perfumes that I wear constantly. Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely and Noa from Cacharel. These are my two favourite constant scents. They're powdery and light and I adore them. But I'm starting to feel I should branch out a bit. The secret to perfume for me is to stay away from citrus scents- I end up smelling like a citronella candle and that just ain't so cool. Or musk- I keep thinking I have an attic. When I was a teenager I was a big fan of Joop!. I honestly can't remember what it smelled like. I need to hunt that down again and take a whiff and let the nostalgia come rushing in.

Nowadays perfumes are villified in the office space- makes sense (or dare I say scents.. hahaha. sigh). Allergies are abundant and those morons who bathed in it ruined it for the rest of us. I cannot stand smelling perfume still after 5 minutes after the wearer has left. Dude! Lighten up! What did Coco Chanel once say "Only put perfume where you'd like to be kissed?". Yeah.

Apropos Coco, one perfume I absolutely covet is Chanel No. 5. I heart this. I covet this. One day I will no longer rub those scented magazine tabs against my wrists to get the scent but will get a bottle of the stuff. Another scent I like is Thierry Mugler's Angel. A few years ago I heard that this was the highest sold perfume in the world.. Inneresting. The hunt is on for an affordable nighttime perfume. Wish me luck.

Happy Wednesday!

  3. I've been wearing Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson, which I love, but I am incapable of describing scents. :) It just smells good to me! I know they have a version based on the Nile and also the Mediterranean (that one is citrus based so probably not for you.) Sigh, it's the only Hermes I'll be wearing...

  4. Hermes perfume?! Wow! How much is that?! There's an Hermes store here in Vienna. You can see my nose and hand prints on the window :)

  5. I'm way too skeered to actually enter an Hermes store! I got mine at Duty Free in Amsterdam. It was similarly priced to Chanel, etc. :)
