Projects in the Works

It's Monday morning. The Saints won the Superbowl. I watched the second half because I have this horrible habit of having to watch something that may be historical. Meh. I'm tired. So anyway, the ball was a blast and the dress fit and the Husband and I recovered yesterday by lying in bed and watching The Simpsons and a German film from the 50's.

With much trepidation on Friday I tried the dress on. There were a few tense moments as the Husband fought with the zipper but there was much celebration when it was finally up. It was like a scene from Independence Day when the aliens were defeated and people from around the world cheered. Except there were no nomadic desert children and no Bill Pullman but I did have a frozen pizza to celebrate.

Saturday was spent doing make up for a friend- she bid for me for a fundraising event- as well as me doing my make up and hair. I used fake eyelashes and fake hair and lots of make up but it was a natural look. We left around 5:30 and indulged in a classy dinner. See below.

Then it was time to head to the Hofburg palace and get our freak on. Now, this is what the dress was before I went all fashion designer on it (knee length):

And this is the dress finished and on the hanger:

This is the back view. I'm on the left with the tulle bow growing from my shoulder. I should have that looked at:

And this is me looking goofy but you can see the strap I sewed on. That was actually from the waist band of a satin skirt I owned.

And this was the last picture of the night where we were jam packed in the main ballroom and we were tired and the Husband was tired and not motorbooting me, perverts.

The ball was a blast and the people watching epic. Wow! So there you have it, that was the dress.

Happy Monday!

  2. Hi Amy. Thanks for reading! I'm new to this as well and am still learning :)! The way I post my pics is using that little icon of a painting and just upload. Blogspot gives you about 3 options as to how you want to post your pictures- center, right, left. When it is uploaded it will be up at the top of your post and you'll have to drag it to where you want it. I hope that helps?
