What's for Dinner?

I love me some good sandwiches. Le Sandwich. Das Sandwich. El Sandwich. Nothing will beat my dad's grilled cheese sandwiches. Seriously nothing. The buttery cheesy goodness hooked me at a young age and like any dedicated crack addict I need to one day beat the habit but until then the grilled cheese sandwich has me in its clutches. Vive le cheese! As I have matured (you need to pronounce mature with a strong t- say mat. Then add ure. That makes you sound more matuuure) I have explored other aspects of the sandwich. My new fave is this one below.

The Pesto Mozzarella Sandwich
1 tbsp pesto
a few chunks of fresh mozz
1 tbsp cream cheese
a few slices of onions
a few leaves of lettuce

Toast bread, I prefer the Austrian brown bread because it makes me believe that it is healthy and therefore has no calories. Spread the pesto on one piece, spread the cream cheese on the other piece. Slap on the other ingredients and there you have it. Your sandwich. Yes. It is good. Paired with a cream of tomato soup and you're ready to watch reruns of Dawson's Creek and wonder what ever happened to Katie Holmes and how you would sell your first born just to be a fly on the wall at her house with Tom. What? You know you would!

It's hump day (a term that can send any pubescent child into fits of hysteria. Or me too actually) and I'm hoping the day flies by. I's got things to do and people to see. Also, I took a step yesterday that I have never done before. I won't post about it until a later date but if it all works out then let me just say, I will be moderately pleased.

Happy Hump Day! giggle giggle.

  1. my favourite sandwiches all involve at least one whole avocado and a wheel of cheese....yum. also i've recent become one of those vegetarians who eats bacon (there are lots of us, don't hate) and it's basically changed the whole concept of the sandwich for me.

  2. I think I love you. I like that you didn't consider chicken, you went straight to the good stuff. I miss the sandwich bar at Trin!
