What's for Dinner

Easter is just around the corner and I have to work on the eggs, stat! Tonight I am out at a meet and greet for the Vienna Expats and so I'll have to work on my projects tomorrow. Last Friday I bought a ton of end pieces to sew into dresses. Seriously, go for the end pieces- you'll save a lot and it is usually enough material to sew a simple dress. With my gift certificate I got 5 pieces for 35 Euros! I paid 5 Euros. 5! The thing with making your own clothes is that for the most part it's gonna cost you more... but, if you're cheap like me (in more ways than one. woot.) you should start by recreating things in your wardrobe first and then invest the money in material. Or go for end pieces comme moi. Or wait for the sales. I have quite a few projects in the works and once I can leave this place that I am no longer seen as a coveted employee, I'll get sewing. Listening to Maria Callas. Drinking a glass of wine. Dreaming of Vegas.

So, here's a soup recipe that I made on Saturday. It's not light. It's not fat free. It's low carb though. It's awesome.

Leek and Brie Soup
2 leeks
1 large white onion
Dash cinnamininon
2 cups veggie broth
2 cups cream
1 block o' brie
2 tbsp of butter
salt and peppa

Chop up leeks and onion and cook in butter. You're done when they're translucent. Don't brown! Transfer to blender and mix until it's smoothish. Transfer to the broth and simmer for a couple of hours. Look on the internet for summer shoes you'd like to buy. When you're ready to eat the soup, in a second saucepan (on low heat) melt the brie and whisk in the cream and spices. When melted and smooth, add the leek mixture to it and whisk again. Once heated through, serve and enjoy total awesome goodness.
