The Partay

The party is over. I would have written yesterday but I decided to lie in bed and watch horrific films on tv. I'm always exhausted the day after a party. Saturday was spent in the kitchen cooking for mah guests and therefore Sunday involved a meal of pitas with processed cheese microwaved on top.. I like to keep it gourmet.

The party was a success and I'm all touched and stuff from the amazing gifts. Everybody rocks! The meal was just enough and I have to say that this was the easiest dinner I had prepared. I had done so much prep work that I didn't have to spend that much time in the kitchen and that makes me heppy. The menu was:

Vine leaves stuffed with rice (the Husband bought them at the market. I wasn't a fan though)Halloumi cheese
Pitas
Tzatziki- I made it with yoghurt, cucumber, dash of lemon juice, salt/pepper and enough garlic to ward off vampires in, I don't know, Asia. Sorry to all of my guests if they were looking to get a little sumpthin sumpthin after the party. At least I can say your sinuses are clear.. Right?Macaroni and cheese a la Greece- normal homemade mac and cheese but with nutmeg and feta.. Kapow!
Greek Salad
Souvlaki- lamb slices from the frozen section
Moussaka- I used lots and lots of nutmeg and cinnamoninin
Roasted potatoes- yeah, these were gone in 60 seconds flat. Well done troops.
Mixed plate of Greek olives, feta, and sun dried tomatoes

There really wasn't any food left. That makes me heppy. Also, you peeps went all out with your togas! Thank you! Bikini party next year? Ha! I jest. I kid. I'm fat. Also, I received two awesome cakes that I got to blow out and people sang happy birthday and like why haven't I had a birthday party in years because seriously it is like the best feeling eva. Now I am back to being a regular non birthday person. Der Sigh. Another plus point of this party was the clean up. The place was clean yo. We must be all aging.

Here are some pics of the partay.
The calm before the storm.. It's like blue and sea like.
My Greek masks I made. Not easy to see. But they were there.

The small table.. I placed blue pebbles and shells on the metal part and then covered them with a glass plate. Those are chips and olives in large shells. It was cool.
The ladies discussing Hippocrates or shoes. Whatever.

Me opening gifts. Side view of the sexay toga I made. I'm on the left.

Some truly inspired togas. I'm in the middle. Regretting not wearing leggings.

Yesterday was the Valentine's Day. A day of joy, of suffering, of guilt trips. I love me some Valentine's but in the sense that the Husband is pretty awesome when it comes to all things romance. Ms. Grumpy that I was yesterday, was given earrings, some flowers and truffles. I am blessed.. I am regretting being jerky in the morning.
Less than two weeks until the Baby Shower! Gotta get my ass in gear!
Happy Monday!
