Projects in the Works

Last day before my birthday. I kind of like to think of this day as New Year's Eve. But without the extreme drinking but definitely with the feeling of remorse the next day. I 'fixed' the self tanner last night and well, I'm a lovely shade of Oompah which leads me to rethink the lighting at the party. It'll be dark. Really dark. I'll pass out flashlights.

Last night I started on my miniature Greek temple for the Toga party on Saturday. If I had more time I would have made some me-size columns (colloms? colums?) too but I don't have time so don't judge me. This was relatively easy and fast to make. I took a shoe box, four toilet paper rolls and masking tape and went all Red Green on it. To cover it in that white stuff, I used plaster of paris (cast material stuff that when wet is like papier mache). It's not completed yet but soon. Soon my pretties. And here is mah temple.

That will be the centerpiece. I kind of like it. It looks a little Asian so I'm going to have to print out some Greek frescoes and stick those along the front. I'm almost done decorating and I'm liking the look. The Husband has asked me to carefully untape the decorations on Sunday as the walls have already suffered tragically from parties past. A man can dream. On another note, I'll be painting the walls in March.

Woot woot! It's almost mah birthday. Der Sigh.

  1. So I can be the first--it's midnight and you are all snug as a bug in a rug already--but it's YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!

    Happy Birthday to you!
