Yesterday was a good day. In the morning I went to the main shopping street and bought material for the parties. I looked at some ball dresses that were cheap looking ang overpriced and I got my nails done. In the afternoon I watched "He's Just Not That Into You." while working out on my cross trainer. Cute film overall but I have some issues with it. Warning! Spoilers! This film has been out for ages but obviously people like me haven't seen it so I'm warning people like me to not read the next couple of paragraphs if they want to see the film. How nice am I?! First of all, the relationship with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck, the one where they've been together for 7 years and he hasn't popped the "question" and then she dumps him and then takes him back and tells him she doesn't want to get married and then he proposes. Um. Yeah. Now, had I been with the Husband and we weren't married this would have seemed like a great plan. Not. Really, no. I get where they were trying to go with this film but at the same time it seemed to preach "Act like you don't care about marriage and just you wait he will propose." Reverse psychology anyone? Hm.
I loved the "main" character Gigi. Cuteness but slightly obsessive. I think we've all been in her shoes and if you haven't then shine on you perfect woman. And Jennifer Connolly kept reminding me of Sarah Silverman and then Ben Affleck was in the film who is buds with Matt Damon and I kept getting that song she made for Jimmy Kimmel stuck in my head and boy was that distracting and slightly hilarious at the same time. Overall it was nice to see a different type of romantic comedy and I agree with the mantra "If a guys wants to see you, he will find a way."
Anywho. That was most of my afternoon spent and then in the evening I did a couple of beauty treatments. Numero Uno, I did the olive oil treatment in my hair. I let it sit for about 40 minutes and thought about pasta. Then I did a face mask that I bought at the store but what I didn't realise was that this was a cloth mask and not a cream mask. So it is pretty much a piece of cloth, drenched in aloe vera with nose, eyes and mouth holes cutout of it. And I kind of felt like Hannibal Lektor when I put it on. :/ Next I did the vodka shampoo mix. I had read about this many years ago and had always wanted to do it but at 15 I don't think my parents would have appreciated me grabbing the Absolut and saying "Gonna wash my hair yo! See ya!". So now as an adult I grabbed the Absolut and mixed 3tbsp of shampoo and 3 tbsp of vodka in a cup and used it as a shampoo. The result should be shiny hair. I think it worked. Will try it again in a week or so and see if it works or if I just like to pour vodka allover me.
Today I have a ton of things to do and it is snowing and I feel like staying home in my pink satin bathcoat and eating homemade mac and cheese. We'll see when I actually leave the apartment. Meanwhile I will watch SATC the film and finish my marketing project. Oh yeah!
