There is that 1960's waist line and while I love all things 1960's I find this waist line is almost impossible to pull off. It's like a vintage mom jean. The top is nice but below something is happening. And it is making me a little uncomfortable. Like a giant tulle jelly fish attached itself to the gown.
I still have problems moving on from Dawson's Creek. Jen obviously joined the family of Big Love and this is 4th wife's wedding dress. It's Chanel and the detailing is gorgeous but it is a little yawn inducing.. I'm sorry.
Gywneth Paltrow and James Bond were captured by Dr. No and this is the outfit the super villain provided for her. I always wondered why the super villains kept super shiny outfits for people they were going to kill. Their dry cleaning bills must be through the roof! The dress is Calvin Klein and while I love the cut I'm not wowed. I loved the CK dress Claire Danes wore for the Emmy's- that would have wowed me.
I'm not talking to HBC. She knows what she did. Or didn't. Sure the dress looks like she was in a sword fight and she has a Union Jack clutch attached to her calf but that ain't crazy enough. Unfriend.
I have a total crush on Cate Blanchett. She rocks and she is an amazing actress. This is Givenchy. It has a 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea feel- like her chest is an old school ship/sub window. And well, her shoulders remind me of burping the kiddo late at night.. Otherwise, structurally, it is amazing..
There were so many dresses to look at and I still have to hit up some blogs. I didn't want to read them until I put down my thoughts and feelings lest I be swayed. We watched Austria's Next Top Model last night to which the Husband whispered to the kid "Look! Models! Women!" to which I countered with a dose of Oscar dress watching.. Nice try G, nice try.
Happy Monday!
