I posted a picture of the kid wearing this months ago on Facebook.. Now I shall show you how to make one..I started working on this jacket when I was pregnant and trying to wrap my head around the fact that I was going to have a boy. The gender didn't bother me but rather the fashion.. I now have fully embraced boy clothing and have created a mini man dressed as a cross between Chuck Bass and Lord Pomperoy (I don't know who that is but I'm going to say he seems quite pompous and wig and lace wearing).. Fantastic. Oh yes, I know he will hate me when he is older but I might as well get the fun in now.. Patience my special indigo child, patience.
Now, I decided to make the kid a lounge jacket.. Something cool to greet the ladies when they come by. Something shiny.. Easy Peasy Pimp/Smoking Jacket for a baby..
First measure out the torso. I just guessed and made a vest with cut out arm holes. 3 pieces attached to make the vest.
I then sewed on triangle collars made out of the animal print and attached them to the vest and hemmed the vest.
And then cut out arms and attached them. Then I added trim to the arms. (not pictured)
And voila! The gentleman of the house is ready to see you.. Or bust a cap.. either or..
