What's for Dinner?

I love hosting small dinner parties too- just to make sure you guys don't just categorize me under "lover of hosting larger dinner parties." I like setting the table differently everytime. These pictures are from boxing day when we hosted two friends for the oh so good raclette. The placemats and runner are from Interio- my mother bought those for me a few years ago. They are silver and shiny and quite versatile. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest of quality.

Here's a picture from a completely different day just to mix things up. I made egg pasta tagliatelle for a butter and parmesan sauce. Nice and light right? I have a pasta maker but like most kitchen appliances, I don't use it often enough. With these noodles I just used my hands and a rolling pin and moronic optimistity (new word). Look at my creation!

It was quite easy and now I have forearms like Popeye. Add some eggs to some flour and mix. Google a recipe for homemade egg pasta and use that. I don't want any type of lawsuits for using someone's recipe. Anyway, once the dough was handmixed, I rolled it out as thin as I could and once it was as thin as I could get it, I kept rolling it to get it thinner. It was a challenge but I felt I had made a good effort and I give myself an A for effort. Go Me! To cut into thin strips, I rolled it like a jelly roll and did it that way. I placed the strips on a towel and let it dry for a couple of hours. Since it is fresh pasta it only needs a few minutes to cook. So good. So good. Bene.
