I woke up early despite having a late night but I was excited. I wanted to finish my sequin hat and I did and I like it. While finishing it, I watched
The September Issue. Wowzers, what a documentary. I expected more from it: more about Anna Wintour and her life but what they did show, I adored. The woman is amazing and she is the oracle. The way the designers fawn over her is so indicative of the power that she holds over the fashion industry. To work for her would be a nightmare, I believe, but the knowledge one would gain would be gold. I heart that whole world. I don't know if I could survive it though. Sitting in my velour track suit and wearing my Uggs, survey says no.
Anywho, here is my latest project completed. I got the idea from the Karl Lagerfeld Chanel documentary. I don't even know what this style of hat is called but it is so vintage. To start off, I took a piece of black material. I drew a tear drop shape with a white pencil eyeliner (cause I don't have chalk). I used fishing wire and a needle and sewed the sequins on by hand. Here is the start of the project.

After sewing all the sequins on, I cut out the same tear shape on a piece of cardboard and poked 4 holes in it. See? Cool.
I attached the piece of material using glue, tape and faith. And here is the finished piece. I used black sequins to make a funky design.

How do you like them sequins?

That's the hat. To attach it to zee head, I strung fishing wire through the 4 holes and then used bobby pins through the wire and then in my hair. Hopefully I'll be going to a ball this year and I think this would be perfect with my wedding dress. I am going to make a pin to go on my dress that will match the hat. Awesome. The cost was minimal. I think I spent 6 Euros maximum. Altogether it probably took me about 8 hours to sew the sequins on but I am not very focused so for the average person it would most likely take less time.
I have so many open projects that I need to work on and I wish there were more hours in the day. But today I will most likely start working on a baby shower project. Updates soon!
Happy Sunday!
