Last week I was tricked into feeling energetic and I crashed. Today I am doing better since I re-energized on the sofa yesterday. There was a True Blood marathon on and I was set for the day. The Husband isn't a fan so I was left alone for the majority of the day. I love you snookums but mama needs alone time.. Kisses? Since I have been a slug for the last 8 weeks, the apartment has fallen into disaster.. Today I am tackling half of it and cleaning some of the wall to wall carpeting. Yay. How fun.
On Saturday I was invited to a bbq and decided to try out a dip that I thought up in the grocery store. Another thing I have learned about myself in this "condition" is that I need to a) not be hungry and b) bring a list when I go shopping. The other day I stood for 10 minutes in the middle of the store completely confused and another day I ended up just buying Oreos and a watermelon. I don't believe in baby brain after reading a study disputing it but I do believe that exhaustion makes me stupid. Seriously stupid. Two days ago I laughed non stop over a youtube video of a dog trying to bite his own leg. Yes, it's an awesome video but the tears of laughter were a bit much. And I've seen the video before. But otherwise, I'm cool. I'm with it.
So what did I make for this bbq? First a couscous salad which I'll talk about another day and then a feta sundried tomato dip.. Here is the recipe! You will be all like omg that is the easiest thing to make.
Sundried Tomato Dip
block of feta
sun dried tomato pesto (half a small jar)
1 tbsp of olive oil
Just smoothe together with a fork and serve chilled with pitas. I know right? It was a total experiment and thank you Alix for suggesting the olive oil. For those that don't know, Alix is da bomb at salads. I make fun of her cooking because she measures everything. I'm an awful friend but if you ever get the chance to try one of her salads you are lucky.. And this is from someone who is not a fan of salad in general.
It looks like it will be a hot and sunny day and the layer of dust is even more visible.. Awesome.

You haven't cleaned in 8 weeks???????
ReplyDeleteThere's been cleaning but not as dedicated as usual..
ReplyDeleteTova, I was laughing while reading this because I just read an article yesterday (http://www.designspongeonline.com/2010/08/small-measures-with-ashley-watermelon-fever.html) about how pregnant women crave watermelon. So yeah, Oreos and watermelon seems reasonable to me.
ReplyDeletefunny! I haven't had any real cravings- like the ones where I poke the Husband in the eye and tell him to get me something at 2 am.. But watermelon be oh so good.
ReplyDeletecongratulations for the baby :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
