The party was a lot of fun..The costumes were amazing- everyone put such an amazing effort in.. It made the party! I'll post pictures when I get a chance to go through the bazillion pictures currently on our camera. The Husband likes to take random pictures of random people so there is a lot of sorting to do.
I've spent the last few days cleaning up the apartment and painting the wall in the wrong white colour. I'm glad The Husband comes home when it is dark out.. he thinks the wall looks good. Oh how wrong he is. But meh, what's he gonna do?
A new Marie Claire arrived in my mailbox and I love nothing more than going through the ads and sighing and thinking.. waaaaant.. So I headed to H & M and bought myself a pair of leather gloves to tide over the shopping cravings I have been having. I love them. They are a classic. Simple black and tapered and leaaaather and only 19.95. I love me some simple leather gloves.. Next year, I'm buying red blood driving gloves- I've been craving these for years.
In other fashion news, I watched a news clip on German tv about some current trends that seem to be turning up. One of them is, wait for it, meat inspired accessories. Thank you Lady Gaga (I'm being totally sarcastic). I cannot begin to describe how much this grosses me out. I am a meat eater but the thought of wearing a filet as a necklace fills me with nausea. I don't even like to touch dead chicken. Once in a while, when we have guests, I'll put a whole chicken in the oven for dinner, but the prep is left to The Husband. Oh how he loves this. We have dozens of pictures of headless chicken corpses in various poses, studious, tired, dramatic, before he washes them.. Now before you think we're heartless horrible people, know that we do love animals. seriously.. Anyway, this meat trend skeeves me out. Blech. Next.
Owls, owls, owls.. I love me some owls. I want to own an owl. This fall owls are in- in necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings.. Now, I'm pretty sure owls were big in the seventies as I seem to recall thumbing through my mother's macrame book and seeing lots of owl motifs in the background. What was up with the macrame back in those days? How many pot holders were needed for plants.. oh. Right. Anyway, I can be down with this trend. It's kind of funky. Next year, Year of the Skunk? I'll call it now. I heart me some Pepe le Pu. (spelling?)
Wool shorts. I kind of think these would be cute with thick tights. At a chalet. Having fondue. With men in moustaches and Norwegian sweaters.. I wish I had a sunken living room. Oh the parties we would have.. I'm kind of in a 70's mood right now... I'm gonna macrame and show the Husband my etchings. Groovy..
My next big project is sewing a baby sleeping sack for the baby carriage.. It's going to be animal print and this baby is gonna be pimpin'... because nothing is cuter than a womanising baby..
Happy Thursday!

Sew a sheep or faux sheep skin lining on the inside of the sleeping bag. We just got one. Nice!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I was thinking of using one as an insert..
