I've been absent. I've been bad. I've been decorating and watching films to get in the Halloween mood. Don't hate. We found out last week that we're having a boy. I'm happy as any parent should be but my fashion plans had to be scrapped. But I'm happy to say I have visions of a mini Chuck Bass/ Don Draper/ Great Gatsby. This kid will hate me when he's older. But meh, it's a small price to pay for a dapper baby.
I also scrapped my idea for a Calvin and Hobbes baby room. I went to Ikea and found some awesome awesome fabric, a 1960's graphic print with caged birds and bridges, and yes I do know why the caged bird sings. The primary colour is a lightish green and once the Halloween party is vorbei, the decorating can start. Holla!
Pregnancy isn't a whole lotta fun kids. I feel like I could star in a PSA about teenage pregnancy. "See this ass? That's right! Use condoms, kids. And make sure your husband really loves you so he doesn't go screaming from the room in fear every time you change." I'm almost half way through.. Thank you jeebus.
In other news, the party is about 2 and a half weeks away and there is still a lot to do. Especially since masking tape here, for lack of better term, sucks ass. I have had to hang things repeatedly and it's like a scene out of Groundhog day. I feel like blaming the Husband but I have to keep covering the flaked off paint on the walls so he doesn't freak out. Project? Oh yeah.
Some pictures will be posted in the next few days of things I have been up to and another project will be going into high gear in a week or so. Yes, I am making a Don Draper baby suit. If I had the skills, I would make a plastic martini sippy cup to match. Kids are fun!
