Back in da Hood

I, like 20 billion other bloggers are back online after the holidays. It was a great Christmas and New Years. I got lots and lots of presents and the best was the tailor doll I've been kvetching about for months. I'm subtle. New Years was great too. Vienna allows people to set off fireworks in the city and the noise and gun powder is a little too much for me. I compromised with the Husband that I would remain in the city center until 9 at the latest, and then head home. We hit the casino and broke even playing Roulette- we bet on Red a couple of times and doubled our money, yo. Then spent the winnings on slot machines. Now everytime we hear "Rouge!" we get excited (not that the term "Rouge" is a common one). Then we hit Running Sushi and curse you Italian family for taking the last plate of dumplings that were en route to me.

The rest of the evening was spent at home melting lead (an Austrian tradition), playing Tarot cards (a random gift from the Husband), watching Dinner for One (highlarious) and then watching the fireworks from our balcony. For a low key New Years it was pretty gosh darn perfect.

I've got about 8 weeks to go until the kid is due. Not fun. Not fun at all. Due to the lack of sleep and the Braxton Hicks I'm reduced to a pile of whining flesh on the sofa.

artistic rendering of me, yesterday, watching Two and a Half Men.

The nursery is pretty much complete.. Had the crib delivered so I get to look forward to the Husband's swearing in the next few days as he puts it together. And I need to finish my maternity dress for mah baby shower and how hard is it to make a gosh darn potato sack to wear? Hard.. It's really really hard. Sob.

Happy Tuesday and Happy New Year!
