A Passion for Fashion

Oh I think it is that time again.. Looking at ads in Harper's Bazaar and trying to make sense of it all. I have the December issue in front of me and I have marked about 4-5 ads that speak to me.. like an STD. This time I'll be adding pictures.. how fun!

First up: Dior. It's the London Eye! It's the Parliament! It's Marion Cotillard topless holding a purse. Wait, what? Did she lose a college bet? It's a nice bag but I have a couple of things to complain about. Number 1- I didn't recognise her as Marion at all. At all. It's freaking me out. If you had told me it was Miley Cyrus I would have believed that more. Number 2- her expression. The lady is freezing and flashing London. It's a nice bag, and yes, to win one I would probably go topless on the London Eye but not Marion. Just no.

DKNY- Resort 2010 I'm seeing at least 2 outfits that Chloe Sevigny would wear. And probably has worn. Chloe Sevigny terrifies me. I've seen her once in a film and apparently she is amazing in Big Love (I watch Sister Wives for the realism, thank you very much) but she is the stuff of nightmares. Can't explain it and I feel bad for marking her with the crazy vibe but there it is. Anyway, back to the ad.. I'd probably wear some of these pieces seperately.. one time.. at a party at a friend's loft (apartment on the 1st floor), post baby weight loss but the patterned tights are throwing me. I love patterned tights.. I really do.. I own some.. But I always do a double take when I see someone wearing them.. "Whoah! That's some burn! Oh wait.." or "Yikes, skin disorder." and then I look closer and smile and think "Cute!".

Pamella Roland- Oh Pamella, you so special. You spell your name with two "L's". Shine on you crazy diamond. But Pamella makes some pretty pretty dresses.. However, the full length one below is not hitting that mark.. You know you are thinking it, you just won't say it out loud, but I will. Female terminator got shot. There, I said it.

Marc Jacobs Bang- Holy jeez I hope the Husband doesn't walk in on me right now. This is practically indecent.. Marc Jacoby must work out a little. But between the oiled up body and the re-used aluminum, I'm thinking KFC. I'm hungry again.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed with the ads this edition. I love Harper's Bazaar and I love that I can't afford anything in it.. well maybe the Alpaca they use in the Banana Republic ad. Oh how awesome to own an Alpaca. But hopefully in a month or so I can do another report on bizzarro ads. I'll have plenty of time when the spawn arrives. Newborns sleep all the time right?

Happy Saturday!
