I found this recipe on Pinterest and I had an instant heart attack looking at it. The idea is a sourdough loaf of bread filled with cheese and bacon and then covered with creamy dressing and melted buttah.. oh mah gawd..This is the original recipe http://www.plainchicken.com/2011/07/cheddar-bacon-ranch-pulls.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FwJJTP+%28Plain+Chicken%29&utm_content=Google+Reader
Killer...
Anyway, i decided to serve this at our Halloween party but sans bacon because I like our guests and want them to live long and healthy lives..
Ingredients:
Loaf of white bread (with hard crust)
1.5 cups of thinly sliced cheddar
.5 cup of creamy garlic dressing (I used the Knorr kind)
1 cup of melted butter
I took a loaf of pusta or puszta brot.. which is a loaf of white bread, and crisscrossed slits with a knife.. It can be a bit of a challenge but keep on trucking, the end result is awesome.. Then stuff the slits with slices of cheese.. This is the hard part, really getting in there and trying not to make gynaecologist jokes.
Exhibit A- Stuffed slits
When you have finally filled every slit (oh giggle, giggle), pour melted butter and dressing allover the bread. Cover with tin foil and bake at 180-200. After 15 minutes, uncover and cook until brown on top another 15-20 minutes.. Serve warm or at room temperature.. This stuff disappeared at the party! It is a special high caloric treat and I will definitely be serving this again.. Maybe this time with bacon..
