How is it the afternoon already?! I actually slept until 9:00 this morning which is nothing short of a miracle. I guess I was a little exhausted from the past 2 weeks of debauchery. Last night my friend Lucy came over and taught me how to sew. This morning I started finger puppets and then hit a roadblock with the bottom bobbin thing running out of thread and it all went to pot. Luckily the Husband stepped in and actually read the manual.
Husband: Dear, did you actually read the manual?
Me: No, it's too long. (Whine whine whine).. Stupid machine. I can't do it. Stupid manual's too complicated..
Husband: It's 4 pages long. And it has pictures.
So now everything is set up and I will start again shortly. Sewing's fun. I feel so Coco.. Oui! I'm pretty sure Coco Chanel didn't make finger puppets but whatever. I'm attempting to make a wraparound jersey scarf this afternoon. If you find a smashed sewing machine in the 10th, ignore it. He failed me. Otherwise there'll be pictures of my new scarf! Yippee!!!
I love new projects and I love having many going at the same time. Keeps me busy. And quiet- according to the Husband. Sewing machines are completely new to me. I've seen some. My mom used one. But honestly, I had no idea how to use one. I'm not sure how I thought it would work but I'm pretty sure I remember little elfs coming in and finishing it all up. Damn you Brothers Grimm!
Tomorrow is back to work day and I am going to psyche myself up by taking a bath and doing my nails. And making myself believe that this is the year for career luck. Yes, yes it is.
Now back to the dining room table for sewing! Huzzah!
