These are super easy to make and I made 4 types . How do you like that animal print in the back? Hello Jersey Shore.. Anywho.. Take ready made pastry.. I used croissant pastry and spread it out. Using a cookie cutter, I cut out little circles and preheated the oven to about 150 Celsius.
Pastry 1: Brie and pear. Cut a little piece of brie, cut a little piece of pear. First brie on the pastry then pear and a little bit of salt.. Bake.
Pastry 2: Pesto and cheese. Spread pesto on the circle, sprinkle cheese on top and then add a dash of nutmeg. Bake.
Pastry 3: Curry and sugar. This was a complete experiment and it wasn't bad. The curry was pretty spicy and next time I might get a milder one. Brush the circle with olive oil and mix equal parts of curry powder and crystal sugar. Sprinkle on top. Bake
Pastry 4: Olives and cheese. Take a pastry circle, sprinkle some cheese, add two small pimento filled olives and then fold the circle in half to seal in the goodness. Bake.
Cooking time ranged from 15 to 20 minutes and these can served warm or cold.. Survey said they were pretty good. I'm looking forward to trying different combinations of flavours.
I have not yet caught up on the last episode of Desperate Housewives of New Jersey and I am dying to. Love love love (blatant copying of Teresa) this show. Bought something to prove my addiction which I will reveal soon after reading it.. I need help. Some serious help.
But the good news is that I have a new venture I am working on and if all goes well I will be pretty (fist) pumped. The apartment is almost ready for the party on Saturday and kind of looks like an Italian frat house.. Being an adult is awesome!
Happy Wednesday!
